Key Contributions and Initiatives
Guided by the belief that strong local communities are fundamental to our success, we have directed resources toward impactful donations, employee-driven volunteering, and strategic partnerships with local organisations. We’ve had the privilege of hosting three work experience students from Bexhill Academy, Claverham Community College, and Nobel School as part of the Align JV Colne Valley Viaduct project. These opportunities have allowed students to gain valuable insight into the working world and develop essential skills.
We’ve also supported a variety of local initiatives, including sponsoring sports teams such as Eastbourne Borough FC, Heathfield & Waldron RFC, Mid-Sussex Motocross Club, Hastings Seagulls Swimming Club, Burwash FC, and Stevenage Borough Juniors. Our contributions have provided kits and funding to encourage youth participation and promote mental and physical health. Additionally, we’ve supported key health and mental health initiatives, including Macmillan’s Coffee Morning, the Royal British Legion, You’re Never Alone – Chepstowe, and Movember.
In education, we’ve helped improve learning environments for young children by donating materials, sheds, and gardening equipment to schools like Bishop Itchington School, Catsfield Primary School, Fourlanesend School, and Dallington Primary School.
Our partnership with Little Gate Farm continues to support individuals with disabilities and autism by providing valuable work experience. Marissa from our HR/L&D team is a shining example of this initiative’s success, having gained incredible skills and experience working alongside us.
Beyond this, our team has been actively involved in career fairs, mock interviews, and workshops at schools such as Claverham School, Rye College, Canterbury College, Bexhill College, and St Richard’s Catholic School, as well as at our Build UK event. These activities aim to inspire the next generation and build essential workplace skills.
We’ve also supported numerous charitable initiatives, including the Dignity Bag Initiative, Trussell Trust food banks, and Surviving Christmas, working together to help those in need.
Our commitment to making a difference extended to environmental and fundraising efforts, where we organised beach clean-ups and participated in events such as Race for Life. Additionally, we hosted a charity football game for Charity for Kids, demonstrating teamwork while raising funds for a great cause.
